The holidays are a time for giving, and not just giving gifts to family, friends, and loved ones. At Little Tikes, we believe that one of the best ways to give big is to give back to those in need. That’s why today we’ve put together a list of ways that you and your kids can give big and give back this holiday season to help those less fortunate!
Donate to Charity
One of the easiest ways to make an impact during the holidays is to pick a charity that supports a cause you care about and donate money. Picking the right charity is super important, because you want to make sure that as much of your donation goes directly to the cause as possible. We have several charities that support families and align with our core values of being active, discovering new things, and playing together:

Give Toys Your Kids No Longer Use or Need to the Less Fortunate
We’ve always been proud of the fact that Little Tikes makes toys that last, but even we know that eventually your kids will outgrow their toys. We also know that one of the most environmentally friendly things we can do is help you upcycle your old toys to kids in need. Here are a few different charities (most of which have locations in major cities across the country or around the world) where you can donate your old toys

Some of our favorite Little Tikes toys to donate include the Cozy Coupe, Turtle Sandbox, Spiralin’ Seas Waterpark, First Slide, Cape Cottage Playhouse, Gas ‘n Go Mower, and the Adjust ‘n Jam Basketball Set, but many charities will accept any donated toys that are in good condition and clean.
Volunteer
One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time and energy. There are plenty of places that need an extra hand around the holidays (and even more places that need volunteers all year long!), so it’s just about choosing a volunteering opportunity that aligns with a cause your family cares about. Here are a few ideas to help you and your kids think of a cause that you’d like to volunteer for:

Help Out a Family Member or Neighbor in Need
Sometimes, the easiest thing to give is a hand to someone in your life. Maybe take a few minutes this holiday season and encourage your kids to do one of the easy actions we’ve outlined below and give back to their community:
Help an elderly relative shovel their driveway
Give your neighbor a hand carrying in the groceries
Cook a homecooked meal for the new family on the block
Bake a special treat for a teacher or other leader
Write a thank you note to someone who showed you kindness this year
